This week we saw the President push back on Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic, anti-American statements in a tweet storm, where he essentially told her if she didn’t like this country she could go back to Somalia and fix her own nation. What ensued was the House, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, condemning Trump’s statements on the grounds of race. There was also a press conference held by Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley, nicknamed the “squad,” who all condemned the President’s comments as racists. Not to be left out, Representative Al Green, a strident never Trumper, introduced a resolution to impeach the President on, you guessed it, the grounds of making racist remarks, saying it was needed so Congress wouldn’t be harmed.

President Trump did misspeak when he said they [the squad] could go back to their country of origin if they were unhappy with the United States. All were born in the United States except Omar, who immigrated from Somalia. What one can’t argue with, however, is that Trump did not utter one single racial epithet in his rant. He didn’t mention color, he mentioned country. He didn’t call them out over the amount of melatonin they had in their skin, but their America-bashing statements. The tenor of Trump’s tweets, and later his statements on his tweets, whether you believe they were appropriate or not, are clearly pro-American, not racial. But these facts don’t matter to a group of individuals who see skin color as a weapon and a ticket to wield power over others.

Even the term “race card” has lost any meaning in the hysterical environment created over the phantom notion that Trump, and by extension, all of his supporters, are racists. In fact, the race card can’t buy you a cup of coffee any more because its overuse has devalued any currency it once held. Speaker Pelosi said, “Trump just wants to make America white again,” when she was speaking of the U.S. citizen question Trump wants included on the census. And that wasn’t the first time Pelosi has thrown around the race card. In January 2018 she uttered these exact same words about Trump’s immigration legislation.

I have listened all week to media pundits and major media outlets such as AP, make outlandish statements reinforcing the false notion that Trump made racists statements against these freshmen representatives, such as this line from a report the Associated Press filed yesterday when reporting on the blow back: “The back-and-forth captured the potential impacts of Trump’s willingness to inject racist rhetoric [emphasis added] into his reelection fight.” There are hundreds of other examples by mainstream media. But you get the point.

What is most egregious about these false accusations is that when the press and government officials condone or allow language to mean whatever they want it to mean, they are contributing to a very dangerous and destructive environment. When everything is relative and words don’t mean what they mean, law and order descends into chaos. And it has. We are a nation of sanctuary cities and a Congress that can’t govern so great is the divide. Groups routinely attack police, ICE officers and border control officers. Lawlessness has become the rule rather than the exception.

By believing that language is violence, which progressives do, the squad and company grew ever more hysterical following a Trump rally in Greenville, North Carolina, where supporters chanted “Send her back” following remarks Trump made about Omar’s anti-American statements. The squad wasted no time letting us all know that they are all in danger because of Trump’s words and declaring his rallies as dangerous. Antifa nearly blows up a federal building this week, but the squad is frightened over Trump supporters chanting, “Send her back.” Ocasio-Cortez told an ABC reporter, “Trump’s rhetoric at his North Carolina rally put millions of Americans at risk. This is not just about threats to individual members of Congress, but it is about creating a volatile environment in this country.”

This coming from the same woman who refused to make a statement condemning Antifa activist Willem Van Spronsen, who attempted blow up a federal ICE detention center this past weekend in a protest in Tacoma, Washington after weeks of her referring to ICE detention centers as “concentration camps.” Spronsen arrived at the ICE facility with a rifle and attempted to make a tank explode with a firebomb before being gunned down by an officer. In his manifesto, the domestic terrorists referred to AOC’s “concentration camp” rhetoric four times.

Of course, there are unhinged individuals on both side of the political aisle, but a cursory review of facts tells us that it isn’t Republicans perpetuating the increasing violence we are seeing throughout the country. It was a Bernie Sanders supporter who shot a group of GOP congressional baseball players after the election of Donald Trump and it was Antifa that nearly beat gay and mild-mannered journalist Andy Ngo nearly to death just weeks ago. It’s the left knocking off red MAGA hats they see in the streets, schools or restaurants. It’s Maxine Waters inciting violence against officials and citizens, telling them “They aren’t welcome here anymore.” It’s restaurant workers spitting in conservatives food and in their faces. And it’s progressive Hollywood beating the drums of violence against anyone who doesn’t support their far left “religion.”

This list is just a small sampling of the hateful and violent rhetoric on the left, but the double standard of words as violence doesn’t seem to apply to this same crowd, neither do they seem to have any concern that they are promoting a culture of violence and inciting unhinged individuals to attack government officials and citizens. It’s all orange man bad. There is no doubt in my mind that the beginning of a civil war has started in this country and the outcome is going to be open violence and mayhem. Two ideologies are competing for power in our nation, and only one will be left holding the royal diadem. And contrary to the rhetoric in mainstream media, it isn’t going to be Republicans sending citizens to re-education camps or locking them up for speech. I know it. You know it.

I could write pages on the violence, double standards, identity politics and race baiting, but I’ll end with this one thought. Trump’s popularity took a big bounce up after he pushed back on the squad’s vicious rhetoric propounded by AOC on ICE detention centers and Omar’s anti-American remarks. In a strange twist to reality, he was speaking truth to power. After all, it isn’t Republicans who own the media, education or entertainment or control what can and cannot be said in public discourse. The Deplorables are tired of being called racists when they disagree with progressives. They are tired of blacks, whites and Latinos being called dumb. They are tired of being marginalized. They are angry and—one day—the radical left is going to get the war they are gunning for. In the meantime, the average American cares less about race than where their next cup of coffee is coming from. The racist-Nazi name-calling has finally fallen on deaf ears. #Reignwell
